How to Write a Brochure for Your Small Business

Brochure Las Vegas

Creating and printing a brochure for your small business can be a daunting task, especially it is just one more thing on your never-ending to-do list. As a Las Vegas printing company, we work a lot with local business owners who are looking to produce quality yet affordable brochures that make a lasting impression and inspire potential clients to learn more about their companies.

Here's a primer on what to keep in mind when you first set out to plant the brochure printing for your business.

Think Like Your Customer

What is it that your customer wants to know about your company? It's not likely to be your mission statement. It's how you can make their life easier. For example, a restoration and remodeling company may put in bold letters across the top of their brochure: Fire. Smoke. Water. Mod. Wind. Storm. Even if you didn't read the rest, you know what these people can help you handle.

Use Lists

Assume that your brochure won't be read like a murder mystery. The best you'll get is a few seconds of someone's time, and in that short time they will decide whether you do what they need. Make a list of the most important projects/services that your company offers and place it in the center of your brochure. Strive for two to three words in each line. Got a cool graphic that shows more than tells? Place it at the bottom.

About Us

It's tempting to devote lots of space to "About Us". The reason to include this information is to create an instant bond with your perspective customer. It's especially important to local businesses that have a history in the community and long-standing expertise. Include the year your company was founded if it's over 10 years old. Also, it's worth mentioning prominent projects in the community that your customers are likely to know. Keep the copy to under 100 words.

Contact Info

Don't skimp on space for the "Contact Us" portion of your brochure. In possible, devote an entire page or fold. Besides including your phone number and web address, urge the customers to connect with you on Facebook and other social media platforms.

Call to Action

The entire purpose of your brochure is to entice your customer to learn more about your company. Urge them to check out your website, to get a free quote, a free expert session, or receive a gift.
